Velapanthi>Poems>Loving, and wondering
Catching up
| The passage of time, re-wiring of neurons, The pathways of young minds never retraced, Ten billion dead brain cells never reborn, Young heartspills and heartaches forever effaced. Love’s scar tissue in time outgrown; A changed perspective and a memory muddied By ten thousand evenings battled alone And dozens of books of philosophy studied. But tonight when we meet after thirteen years Let’s draw back the covers on subjective histories, Perhaps we can gingerly piece together A sweet truth from the shards of memories. |
