Velapanthi>Poems>Loving, and wondering

Nocturnal meeting

The full moon chose
Not to hang too low
It gave up the sky
And watched from some distance.

The city traffic chose
To show us its lights
But silently conceded
A dark space around us.

The nearby pubs chose
To soak up revelers
And mopped them away
From our Saturday evening.

You and I chose
To walk side by side
With eyes searching eyes
But not hand in hand.
