Velapanthi>Poems>Loving, and wondering

Romance will die

Romance will die, but if of age
Songbirds will circle its grave
Spring flowers o'er it will winter brave
To delight the unwary passersby.

But if it dies in manner foul
Birds will fall dead, the Gods will weep
Vile slime will from the coffin seep
And poison the groundwater.
