Fire, in the News of the Riots

Today Fire was seen at many places,
Silhouetting in its orange light
Bright swords and dark faces.

Here: pools of Fire separated
Men throwing bricks at the heads
Of strangers they somehow knew they hated.

There: walls of Fire closed in
On rooms stuffed with wailing humans -
Blood boiled without, within.

Today Fire had its pictures taken
By goateed members of the press -
Eager, but a little shaken.
